01 Product Testing

Before newly developed products move into mass production, our quality technicians conduct extensive testing on multiple prototypes (typically 2-3 samples, though the quantity is adjustable based on client requests) in trial production.

We have established the following enterprise standards in line with years of market feedback and industry benchmarks. These standards are both rigorous and scientific. When working with clients, we often co-develop customized standards to meet their specific needs for implementation.

Stiffness Test

To evaluate structural integrity, we apply vertical and lateral forces to measure rim flex.

1. Vertical deformation: Predicts rim performance on rugged terrain
2. Lateral flex: Indicates steering precision

Impact Resistance Test

We conduct two types of impact tests:

With tires (for MTB rims) or Without tires (UCI-standard testing for road rims).
Our testing adheres to international standards, with the option to develop custom impact rigs based on client needs.

Tire Inflation Test

For road and climbing rims, high-pressure tire retention is crucial.

Default max inflation pressure: 150 psi (~25% higher than many tire manufacturers' recommended limits).

Spoke Hole Strength Test

Spoke holes experience extreme pulling forces in aggressive riding conditions.

Our standard: Withstands 300kgf without breakage or pull-through

Fatigue Test

Simulating long-term usage, this test evaluates structural durability.

Our in-house standard: 800,000 test cycles without failure

Greenhouse Test

Carbon rims are sensitive to high temperatures. We test for:

1. Deformation under heat stress;
2. Outer width variation within 5% after heating

Brake Track Performance Test

Long descents generate significant heat, impacting braking surfaces.

1. Test protocol: 80-second braking, 10-second cool-down, repeated for 10 cycles;
2. Acceptable brake track deformation: ≤5%

Thread Torque Test

For carbon components with threaded inserts, we verify durability under extreme conditions.

Torque testing at 1.5× the recommended force, repeated 3 times.

Water Pressure Test

The test rim is mounted with a tire and inner tube, which is then filled with water. The pressure is 200 psi for 5 minutes . There should be no leakage or abnormal noise during the process.

02 In-Process Self-Checking

Self-inspections conducted by our production team right after manufacturing each part are an effective way to detect failures or small defects early. This system encourages on-site technicians to identify and solve problems immediately, maintaining high operational standards.
Material Preparation

1. First-in, first-out (FIFO) system: Each prepreg's back film is marked with the cut date (week and day).

2. Raw material weight inspection: Once all prepregs for a rim are cut and prepared, we measure the total weight to avoid any material errors.

Layup
1. Weight measurement to prevent layup errors that could affect product quality and performance.
2. Layup quality inspection in key areas (rim beads and sidewall transitions) to ensure layers are firmly laminated without bubbles or delamination.
Molding
1. Mold cleaning and inspection: Our technician thoroughly cleans the molds before transferring the layup into the mold for curing.
2. Molding stove inspection: Quality inspectors regularly check heating and cooling functions, adjusting settings based on seasonal changes.
3. Raw rim weight measurement: Ensures consistent resin flow rate and proper curing settings.
Hole Drilling
1. Drill bit inspection and replacement every 40 rims for consistent precision.
2. Drilled rim weight measurement.
Trimming & Coating
1. Weighing roughly treated rims and inspecting trueness to avoid over-treatment.
2. Inspection of rim paint and vinyl decals.
Wheel Building
1. Lacing inspection.
2. Tension inspection for all spokes.
3. Wheel trueness inspection.
4. Any misalignment of spokes and nipples and other poor compatibility of the components.

03 QC Inspection

Our quality inspectors conduct inspections at key production stages and perform a final check before shipment.
Pre-Production

✔ Examination of raw material quality and quantity

✔ Short-beam shear strength testing of raw carbon prepregs according to ASTM-D2344 standards

Curing
✔ Out-of-mold raw rims are weighed and inspected for flatness
✔ Check for abnormal noise and air-bladder leaks
Trimming
✔ Weight measurement after trimming
✔ Check for burrs, residue, and hole accuracy
Final Inspection (Rim)
✔ Inflation Test: All road rims are tested at a max tire pressure of 150 psi
✔ Final net weight, appearance, hole diameter, hole counts, noise, decals, and labels
✔ Waterslide decal placement
Final Inspection (Wheels)
✔ Spoke tension and balance
✔ Wheel dishing/centering
✔ Roundness and flatness inspection
